Owen Travers-Clark
Family garden - Fursedown, SW London

Job Specification - Residential

A young family wanted to make more of their outdoor space and remove a decayed tree in the process.

Solution Provided
The tree was cut down and the Ivy that had asphyxiated it was uprooted. This left a large amount of soil and bricks, which was swiftly put into a skip. New and old paving slabs were laid together, producing a chequered effect and a brand new feather edge fence was erected. (The old fence had been completely consumed by the Ivy) The old wooden seat built around the Apple tree was firstly strengthened and then furnished with new decking planks.

An old Rose bed caused injuries to the young children and again this was replaced by more chequered paving.

Whilst on site an old fence was fixed up and a wickerwork trellis installed to the top. A Silver Birch was planted in the ground in addition to a trio of reliable climbing plants, a Trachelospernum, a white flowering Solanum and a Wisteria
